  • Absolutely. We have extensive experience working with municipal building departments and regulators across Canada. SCM manages the entire building permit process on your behalf, including submissions, correspondence with plans examiners and Chief Building Officials (CBOs), and closeout. Additionally, we are well-positioned to collaborate with international partners when required, enabling us to deliver services wherever the work may lead.

Early involvement helps confirm whether your planned expansion or retrofit is practical, ensures process and building requirements are aligned, and identifies utility, regulatory, and hygiene needs before costly decisions are made. From there, the firm can guide pre-design, detailed design, construction planning, and commissioning, especially for complex upgrades inside a facility that is currently in operation.

We design food manufacturing facilities that are licensed at both provincial and federal levels, fully compliant with CFIA and Safe Food for Canadians (SFC) regulations, provincial requirements such as OMAFA (formerly OMAFRA), and even smaller facilities operating at a municipal regulatory level. We adhere to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) for all levels of regulation to best suit our clients needs.
